CELTIC CROSS: The Celtic cross is a symbol that combines the cross with circle surrounding the intersections, together they symbolise the joining of Spirit and Matter and the unity of all events in time. According to Irish legend Saint Patrick introduced the Celtic cross by drawing a circle around the Latin cross to represent the Pagan Moon Goddess, creating a link between the Pagan cultures and Christianity.

The 4 arms of the cross are believed to represent the 4 elements (Earth, Air, fire, Water) and also the 4 directions (North, South, East, West)  as well as the 4 parts of man (Mind/Body, Heart/Soul).  The Cross symbol pre dates Christianity and was used by many cultures and traditions. It is believed by some that the Horizontal part represents the earth, the vertical part represents Heaven and where they meet at the centre represents the unification of heaven and earth. The circle represents the feminine energy and works together in unison with the masculine energy of the staff section. Together they mirror dualistic nature of manifested reality on Earth The polarity and separation that abound in the human psyche.
