HATHOR:  In ancient Egypt the Primordial Goddess Hathor personified the attributes of the Divine Feminine Principal, Fertility, motherhood, Childbirth, nourishment, Love and Joy. In ancient Egyptian creation myths she is depicted as a cow deity, with head horns in which is set a sun disc with Uraeus. The Milky Way Galaxy as seen in the night sky became associated with her as it was considered a heavenly (Nile) river the giver and sustainer of life. During the 3rd millennium BC when during the fall and spring equinoxes, it aligned over and touched the Earth where the sun rose and fell. The four legs of the celestial cow represented Hathor along with the Goddess Nut. They are often depicted in papyrus scrolls as the pillars on which the sky was supported, with the stars on their bellies constituting the Milky Way on which the solar barque of the Sun God Ra sailed.

She was also know as Queen of Heaven, ruler of the sky and was later associated with Isis and earlier with Sekmut her symbol was the sistrum.  A major cult developed in Dendera Upper Egypt, temples were built to worship her, priests and priestesses were tattooed with images of the Goddess. She has remained a major deity to this day beloved by all who seek her wisdom, guidance and protection.
