Hathor Ring (gold)

A$180.00

The Goddess Hathor was often depicted as a cow symbolising her maternal aspect, because she is seen as giving sustenance to her people; as the sky goddess she was associated with the Milky Way. One of her most forms was of a woman wearing a headdress of a cow, horns, and a sun disc. Hathor took on many forms throughout Egyptian history and was associated with different goddesses but was also seen as the feminine counterpart of the god Horus. Eventually she became the primeval goddess responsible for the origin of all other goddesses. Over the years the veneration of Hathor eventually shifted to the veneration of Isis, though the two goddesses are closely related. Hathor was the goddess of motherhood, love, joy, and fertility. She helped the soul make a smooth transition into eternity.
