Joan d’ Arc a peasant girl who believing that she was acting under the divine guidance of St. Michael, St. Margaret of Antioch and her patron St Catherine of Alexandria, led the French army to victory in 1492 defeating the English army’s attempt to conquer France during the 100 years war. She possessed many attributes among which were her remarkable mental and physical courage, and extreme personal piety. She was burned at the stake in 1431 for heresy, she was 19years old at the time of her death.
